The other carts claim to be easy to use. VirtueMart is not only as easy to use as Joomla (also: Mambo), but it was easy to install and looks very easy to comprehend and maintain.

VirtueMart is an Open Source eCommerce solution to be used together with a Content Management System (CMS) called Joomla!â„¢ (but also works with Mambo). Joomla and VirtueMart are written in PHP and made for easy use in a PHP / MySQL environment.

VirtueMart is no stand-alone script, but a Plug-in and requires the PHP Content Management System Joomla! (or Mambo). So you must install Joomla first, then VirtueMart.
